but even with deeper pockets I would say that at a certain point things that are not used (i.e. watches not worn) will leave the collection. I tend to loose the overview within my different collections and when I realize/remember what I have got that is not used I go ahead and sell a single piece or even a bundle of those items. And have never looked back yet but spent the incoming money for new toys

keep the watches, write each child a letter telling them what they mean to you, what the watch means to you, and how that fits together, and pass them on when the time is right.
That's a good point
Who knows if they will like watches. But my kids will definitely get my watch(es) someday. Interestingly, my most sentimental/meaningful may not be my most expensive ones.

Keep them! The kids will grow up, and if you really like the watches you will regret it in the future if you sell them. That said, I fully understand that you think about it and have some doubts as what path to chose.

As the enjoyment does not need to be continual to have value. Even brief moments here or there are worthwhile. I think that is a good character - as long as it isn't acquired for the sake to have, buy to enjoy. Albeit in short bursts or continually.

whenever my interested decreases I immediately call the AD to stop the order, even with sought after pieces. never look back, there so much ahead in the future ;-)
If you don't sell, and keep them in a safe place
then whever you feel like a "new" watch, just go pull one out. Then it will be NEW again to you, and perhaps if a few years go by, VINTAGE at the same time. Thats how I justify it... Cazalea

Not keeping it in a safe or mint to speculate. But just have breied periods of enjoyment which would lead to it minting like new , either in actual condition or in being out of site for awhile.

you love it too much so after it’s gone, you will pine for it and feel pain when you see a photo of it or talk to a WIS friend about it. For me, my watches go when the passion for that particular piece goes, regardless how much time it spends on my wrist....
