Agree with the general criticism
IWC is a mass producer. I'm a big fan of the vintage Ingenieur references and the early Da Vinci perpetual.
Georges Kern had a mandate from Richemont to grow the business and for over a decade now, it's been about marketing the hell out of revamped modern watches every year to the mainstream who like the general good & bold-but-not-overwhelming looks and genuine Swiss history. A matter of tastes as always. IWC will continue to do what it does. As other PuristS have noted, let's hope Mr. Kern has some reserve when it comes to the more classical & storied watchmaking houses at Richemont.

GG had nothing to do with the 666. That was Pellaton's baby. In the 70s Genta was hired to "freshen" the Ingeneur and this resulted in the SL. IMO the SL doesn't have the same panache as the RO or Bulgari; even the Nautilus. The 666 does. It is a monster ...
