Back from service
IWC did a great job on this GST perpetual calendar chronograph. It was about 4 weeks between authorising the work to being back on my wrist. Particularly impressive since this time included a round trip between the UK and Schaffhausen.
This watch is from 2020 and had never been serviced. Needless to say it didn’t work when I received it. Now it seems to be pretty much like new.
The cost of the core service was £1,530, inclusive of 20% VAT, which seems reasonable given the complexity.
I’m now looking forward to getting some use out of it.

Great IWC , i remember my GST chrono i had many (many ) years ago.
Was my daily beater back then . If this is a similar movement as the DaVinci PC then i suggest to be a bit more extra careful with it as these movements are fragile imo .

I also used to have the automatic chronograph and I agree it was a great beater. I suspect this is the same movement as the DaVinci PCC and I do plan on taking care with it. Although it was produced as a complicated sports watch you could take to the beac...

Yes, I was surprised. With watchmakers taking summer holidays, I was expecting it back in September or October.
Perhaps IWC chains their watchmakers to their benches and doesn’t let them take holidays!
