Inspired by posts about the new Inge, I had to fetch it from the safe.
That edgy styling and integrated bracelet has a nice understated look. Nothing that is noticed by non-WIS people. It might be mistaken for another Tissot-PRX-like 80s watch.
But if you handle it, it has a bulletproof feeling to it. It wears a little larger than its size suggest, but is still pretty svelte. And if you look closer, its the small details that come to life, eg the faceted and gilt indices and hands, the asymmetrical holes for the screwed in (not glued) lunette, the protruding centerlinks that prevent the rest of the bracelet from scratching, the fish-crown.
I must confess, it does not get too much wrist time, but everytime I put it on, I‘m fascinated.
And btw, just like the new one, its price was, when new, about double the price of a Rolex Datejust. Justified? Thats another story.
But the 3508 has that extra trick with its super-antimagnetic movement, which was at its time, record-setting. According to rumors, it was too expensive to manufacture and subsequently abandoned for the chronometer version with the loupe (ref 3521).
