Welcome and thanks for this post!
One of the greatest descriptions I've read of the often tiny things that keep fanatics like ourselves from buying certain pieces. For pete's sake, I was talking with someone the other day who was put off by the tiny "2" in the Habring logo! These choices are deeply personal, and it's a relief to hear that one is not alone in being "particular" about features of watches.
That Omega is a beaut, and the co-axial movement a worthwhile advance, IMHO. One question: I had a Speedy for years, and finally sold it off because the bracelet and its cheap-seeming clasp finally drove me nuts. Is the new version better? I would guess that it might not be on the level of the X-71 or the GO, or the really tasty (in my view) Maltese Cross bracelet on the VC OS, but it must have been at least "improved enough" to pass your discerning tastes -- this would be good news for me, as I'd love to own another Omega at some point...
Thanks again for sharing -- I did read from first word to last in one sitting!
Best,
Gary G

IMHO. The Rolex is 'overdone', everybody makes a model that copies them in one way or another (Seiko does a pretty good job, my solar diver looks like a Sub, for example). I'll pass. The GO is dressy and fabulous, but not rugged enough. The IWC is very ni...

Roger, Great write up. The decision making process for each is unique and you described yours very well. It took me back to mine - which has been over a year ago. Now to convince my wife that the she should forget my promise of not wanting another etch fo...

... and the welcome. I suppose it was easily lost in all of my rambling, but the Omega did come home with me at the end of the day. Stock photos were shown of the other three, the photos of the Omega are mine. I'll happily add some more thoughts on the wa...

Thanks for your kind comments. On the bracelet, I think you have the correct assessment: better than it was, but not in the same league as GO, Blancpain etc. The current issue of Watch Time has as the cover story a comparison between the 9300 and the regu...

Super post. I am completely with you on the date wheel of the IWC (and everyone else who does it) Seem the best possible way to ruin a dial design to me. Congratulations on the Omega. Such a step up for them with this movement (I still like the POC as wel...
