having never seen the original in person. I was struck by the case size of the reissue. I was expecting 36mm or so. The homage was really big. Is this also the case with the original Geophysic? was
This is the trouble with the reissue
It's a remake of a perfect watch, with size increased 'for modern tastes.' The styling and mechanics and finishing are all extremely sound, but it's a little chunkier than the original, and worse for being so.

But I thought what they did was still satisfactory: an automatic movement with extra magnetism and shock protection plus regulated to an extra high standard.
37 in this watch would be a dream...

This is a very special watch... and yours an special example knowing its long journey with you. Regarding the Tribute: I own and love it but regret about its size: 36/37 mm would be much much better.
