my guess is that he will probably go for the 5146 as PP he will have heard of but i don't think non-horologist like him would have heard of JLC. Pity, i am more inclined to the latter.
surprisingly, not much price difference between YG 5146 and reverso GMT so that is not an issue.
any thoughts on which is more robust for day to day use?

Why not a Master Calendar....
Since it is closer to the 5146 in complication offering? 39 vs 40mm, Annual calendar vs simple/complete, and the price difference NEW would be huge. -Dean
