If your FSIL doesn't travel and works in an office either should survive the rigors of daily office life. Clearly though one is hand wound and the other automatic. The GMT is taller than the 5146 so might be more easily dinged. I would also suggest looking at the rose gold and white gold variants of the 5146. The wg with gray dial is stunning and very discreet.

Since it is closer to the 5146 in complication offering? 39 vs 40mm, Annual calendar vs simple/complete, and the price difference NEW would be huge. -Dean
