Is the alarm based on the minute hand position, which is useful for diving, or based on the hour hand position?

...which hand triggers the alarm? On the normal Memovox's I believe it is the hour hand, but on a diving watch it should be the minute hand.... It would be much easier and more accurate to adjust the dive time (normally around 45-60 minutes) if it was act... 

Yes, thats exactly what I meant. I'll assume that the minute hand will trigger the alarm.

Not the minute or hour hand. When the minute hands has reached the alarm time, it rings. An example: You start your dive at 16.00. You want to start your ascent at 16.30 and want to be warned. You set your Alarm to 16.30 with the upper crown. Et voilà. Be... 

I believe that the original question in this thread was whether the alarm is triggered once every hour (i.e. when the minute hand reaches the alarm triangle as opposed to the hour hand in all memovoxes including the original DSA). This would IMO (as I als...

I am not talking about how to set the alarm - but rather what releases it. On all other memovoxes (to my knowledge), the alarm triangle is set to point at 3 o'clock if you want the alarm to go off a 3 o'clock (i.e. when the hour hand is aligned with the a... 

...as I am 99% sure that this watch has the same alarm function as the other JLC alarm watches, like the Polaris (alarm activated by the hour hand). Unfortunately this function is not useful for diving, as you can't set the dive time accurately on them......

I am glad to see that you have the original insert for your European version, and in rather good condition (it looks original, maybe a little enhanced to correct scratches, but original indeed) If you are wearing it regularly, given its fragileness, I can...

I tought that it was made of ceramic.... My mistake. Is this material scratch resistant? Do you have an idea if its possible to take of some minor scratches? And also if it get scratched, what should happen during the watches life how much a new bezel + i... 

Same material than on the Rolex Subs. It is not possible to take the scratches off, even minor. But youy can always have your insert changed for a new one, by JLC You made a confusion with ceramic, because at the beginning, ithe idea was to use a bakelite...

That watch is stunning. Just simple, just gorgeous. I've just place my order to my dealer. I will be perfect beside my Polaris 1968. I have allways hesitated to buy the 1965 Polaris but now I am sure it was great to leave a place for this one wich is some...

I love a lot the fact that JLC accepted to sign just LeCoultre on the dial. It would have been historically weird to see JLC on the dial. An excellent point for JLC, and even a double one, with the name Reverso signed on the TT 1931! Best, Nicolas.

...my OCD condition would compel me to look at the scratches on the plexy and not the beauty under and around it. It happened to me before with the Speedmaster which I later sold for a sapphire version. Anyway, it's a personal problem and not any manufact...

Nicolas, to answer your last question : it was definitely worth the wait, almost 50 years after the production of the last DSA. Lovely watches, highly attractive, accurate reedition with the fine-grained texture of the dial and the LeCoultre production et... 

So, 3 years ago, and it was priced 10 500 Euros ( TTP 68 ), 11 500 Euros ( TTP 65 Paris Boutique ) and 25 000 Euros ( TTP 65 Platinum ). Like you, I would have preferred to see its price a bit lower, but we have to keep in mind: 1/ That a lot of elements ...

It is awesome that there will be both US and Euro versions. I know which one I prefer in this case, which surprises me a little as I usually like less writing on a dial. But the US version is THE ONE for me. Wow, it really looks like MJLC did a great job ... 

Really, what an incredible homage to the original. JLC gets a ton of credit for resisting the urge to go overboard with "improvements" here. That said, I'll have to sit this one out, since there are a couple of other pieces ahead of the DSA in the queue. ... 

They are fantastic - makes it hard to choose. We then just have to wait impatiently for what might be coming in relation to the reverso and the jubilee. Soren
