Fantastic review, great recto - less great verso?

Hi Nico,

Fantastic review - both the pictures and the thoughts that went into writing it. Thanks so much for sharing.

You asked for our thoughts; herewith mine, very much aligned - I fully agree with you, great recto and question-marks reg the verso (pun intended):

•The recto (front) is great and in line with what I would have expected and I come to like from a Reverso: timeless dial, harmonious combination of grande date, time and moon-phase with small second - Dauphine hands.
The architecture of the information even reminded me a little of the cabaret (if only because there aren’t so many rectangular watches with big date).

•The Verso is for me much less exciting: while I’m sure the sky (and blue rendering) is probably stunning, I’m missing a little bit the surprise in terms of functions. I see it a bit like an improved version of the duo rather than a “hahaha” effect befitting a limited, anniversary edition. Do you have any insight why they went for such a combination (time, date, moon-phase + day/night indicator)? Can it be related to maximum power which can be stored or available space within case?

Altogether a beautiful watch for sure, more in line with a daily wearer? Maybe in that context it helps create a better combination which will be worn “for real” and enjoyed on the wrist daily?

Best,
Jérôme

Ps: additional thought / 2 cents: when it comes to Reverso, I’m always unsure about the models where one cannot engrave the case-back. I had for a time the “Art Deco” with skeleton movement; the view was nice … and I was however missing the option to engrave. If I had had the chance (and engraved) would probably have kept it because it would have become so much more personal.
