I've made two purchases through what I assume are "grey market" situations and both had to be returned upon receipt due to malfunctions and breakage. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to be able to return them and in the end I realized that the money saved isn't always "money saved" if one doesn't really know what one is purchasing, if you get my meaning. I ended up buying my JLC from a very reputable AD and of course received some AD discount and incredibly wonderful service support. I would now never entertain purchasing anywhere other than an AD. There are reasons they are authorized and quite frankly, if I am purchasing something as expensive and delicate as a fine time piece, I want back up if and when I need it. The "savings" of other ways of purchasing such watches just isn't worth it. I learned my lesson the hard way.
