I remember having a very hard time deciding which one was my favourite.
When the Master Minute Repeater " Antoine Lecoultre ", in platinum, was unveiled, in 2005, it was a total shock for me.
I immediately wanted one, and if I didn't jump on it, it was, of course, because there was a vulgar issue, the money...
I was pleasantly surprised by the style of the dial, the complication, or should I say, the complications as there are three: The Minute Repeater, the Torquemeter, and the loooong Power Reserve ( 15 days ), associated to a daring, young and fresh design.
The Antoine Lecoultre:
One year later, so in 2006, Jaeger-Lecoultre offered another version, even more daring, more complex, in its style, with the ruthenium darkened open dial and the choice of a polished ( !!! ) titanium grade 5 case. Younger, crazier, dign of an Independant creation ( which is, you understood it, a compliment ) :
I can tell you that it took me more than one year to make my mind on this matter. I can't remember how many times I tried both of them, weighting ( by all meanings ) these 2 versions, taking pictures, seeing them on my computer screen several times a day, every day...
I am a sucker for platinum watches, I love the density of the noble metal, but, on another side, the lightness of the titanium case makes it more comfortable to wear, on an everyday basis.
Thre is another advantage, with the titanium case: The sound seems to be richer, less " deaf ", and this touch of Madness drove me to it, finally.
It was 6 years and 3 months ago... And, as you can guess it, I don't regret my choice.
There is one thing I regret, though...
While I can understand that JLC offered two different versions of this Minute Repeater, in a limited edition of 200 pièces each, I had a problem seeing so many itérations of it ( Rose Gold, White Gold, Platinum Black semi open dial, enamel... )
Such a presitgious complication should not have seen so many itérations, in my opinion.
But that doesn't spoil my love, appreciation, admiration and passion for this MMR!
The winner, on my wrist, since July 2007!
In music...

Everywhere in the world:

And you, what is / would be your favourite?
Best,
Nicolas.
