Jaeger-LeCoultre

Maybe, No, Yes and No :)

1. I think it's worth going if you haven't seen the new boutique and / or want to see some watches, this is a good reason to go now. I've been to a lot of the JLC pop-ups so a lot of the material I've seen before, and this isn't a huge event like the reverso exhibit which was epic and worth commuting for, this is more like the normal boutique with some extras. What I will say is this might be the closest you will ever get to a quadriptyque. That, the helio tourbillon, the gyrotourbillon, maybe some of the duometres are part of the traveling exposition so in a couple of weeks they will be gone. One thing is that there's maybe 10min of talk time dedicated to the origins of JLC and watchmaking in CH which is really for people new to the brand and horology so if you are pressed for time or just don't want to sit through that you might just go whenever rather than sticking to the appointment. That said, if you go on the tour you get a free tote and magazine smile

2. Absolutely not. Enjoy some coffee, hang out, read a magazine, ask them to try on all the watches.

3. The triptyque and the reverso gyrotourbillon. The gyrotourbillon because you have to see it running in person to appreciate and the quadriptyque for the finishing. I had seen both before but the gyrotourbillon wasn't running and and the quadryptique in poor lighting behind what I imagine was 6 inches of security glass. However, and this is my beef with JLC today, there was nothing under $100k that blew my socks off. Maybe that's not fair, with new unjaded eyes I can imagine the new Duometres would be super cool, I really did like the platinum, the dial more copper than salmon, but again that ticks just past $100k too.....
