Jaeger-LeCoultre

No problem, RDL. Your elaborated opinion counts.

And I respect it as well, even if I don't see what is an innovative part in MBF watches ( I respect them a lot, by the way, and the Legacy is a real cool watch I like, as well, even if it won't speak to your heart, as it is also playing on a vintage chord. smile )

I don't see the innovative part on an Urwerk, whose display of the hours has already be seen on a certain HW Opus 5, if I am not wrong.

The Freak from Ulysse Nardin is, innovative, in my book.

But it doesn't matter, as everyone pleads and defends what he loves, and that is the fun of a forum, after all. Consensus is not good at all for discussions.

Back to JLC and the Deep Sea Vintage Chrono, now, some thoughts:

No watch is consensual, and the fact that it seems to be warmly welcomed does certainly not mean that it is a consensual one.

The DS Vintage Chrono is not an exception to the rule, as well as the Tributes ( the DS Vintage Chrono is not a Tribute, it is not an homage, nor a re editon, by the way ).

I think, personally, that JLC did well with the DS Vintage Chrono, a kind of horological fiction from the Past, but we don't have to necessarily agree on that, of course.

Now, I totally agree on the fact that the real thing is always the " Real Mac Coy ".

I love both Vintage and Modern watches, JLC or not, by the way, as I am not a mono brand guy.

I know what a Vintage watch can bring, in terms of emotion, charm, soul.

The modern watch plays on anther ground, in my opinion, and offers something a Vintage cannot give you: A Daily wear, in any circumstances.

Will you dive or just swim with your Vintage JLC, Longines, Rolex, Omega and so on? Certainly not!

And at least, a modern watch can be aesthetically pleasant to wear and to see, can easily be serviced ( will it always be the case with an Ibdependant which offers original mechanical solutions, and at waht price? / not always an easy thing when it comes to Vintage watches ).

One thing I didn't get is when you're complaining on the fact that the DS Vintage Chrono is not limited.

I read you, but don't you think the marketting point was rather on " False LEs? "

For once that we don't have this artificial argument, I am pretty happy with.

Now if you consider that it is also a marketting point to say that a watch is not LE...

wink

Best, and thanks for your valuable points of discussion, it was a pleasure ( although it took me quite a long time to answer you. smile )

Nicolas.
