Many thanks Nicolas, for highlighting this exceptionally
impressive, imaginative, and important JLC.
You hit the bulls eye regarding the way this watch wears. In addition to the well-known
accommodation provided by the short lugs, micro-adjustable buckle, and
lightweight titanium case, the EL2 features a unique ratcheting lug
that's hard to describe but delightful to use. A user inserts the
quick-release strap of choice (all EL2s feature a tool-free strap exchange), and the inner portion of the lugs
rotate to bring the shoulder of the strap into contact with the wrist.
For anyone who has ever tried a Hublot Big Bang/King Power or AP ROO and noticed
the regrettable tendency of the strap to project far beyond the lugs and
away from your wrist (think hula hoop!), the EL2 ratcheting lugs remedy
this phenomenon.
Although my wrist is 6.4"/16cm, I have no
problem wearing the EL2 securely. I'd go so far as to say it wears
*much* smaller than the 46+mm Compressor Extremes. Even the rose gold version doesn't overwhelm with its added mass.
Best,
Tim
