I picked up a Duometre chrono recently and your past posts definitely helped my decision, thank you! Datograph/1815, 5170, Breguet 5287, centigraphe, etc I tried on a lot amazing chronographs this year but the JLC really stood out to me as a unique offeri...

Such clarity of layout; on par with the very best dial layouts of any contemporary makers including the independents, in my honest opinion.

the black dial is my favorite among the Duometres. Marvelous!

This is one of my favorite watches and price wise it’s a steal, especially in the secondary market. The reason I haven’t bought one was my fear that servicing it will become increasingly difficult and costly as watchmakers and repairmen continue to dwindl... 

But I expect my collection to be the foundation of my grandkids collections. Hence my concerns.

It's simply extraordinary. Easy to read, delightfully complicated and completely original. As you say, even the finishing is possibly nicer than anything else JLC releases. I think many of us 20 years from now and wonder, "how did we miss this one when we... 

Best of best IMHO

Duometre is my favourite JLC line hands down. I have the same watch. Mine is coming to 8 years ( I think ) and has never been serviced before. I am thinking of sending it in for service. But there's nothing wrong with the watch, except some hairline scrat...

It’s been a while since we have seen a new Duometre.

... and they did warn me unprompted that the patina would get removed with the cleaning process but would return on its own with time. I suppose the cleaning chemicals could remove the patina but not sure that makes sense...

Lange does the same. Its part of the standard procedure to "wash" the movement. The drawback is that it get rid of the patina.

Impressive beauty

was on vacation with my wife and family during the holidays and just got back. You know how much I love the Duometre series and especially this black dial Chronograph. I will make a new post as I got a little surprise during the holidays 😁👍

I already ordered a custom strap for the black dial like the platinum dial. Hope it matches the black dial like the platinum 🤷‍♂️😁

I selected this black nubuck alligator hide with large square scales for the strap itself. And also selected the same nubuck alligator hide for the lining but smaller scales Sort of like the blue nubuck multi-tonal alligator I have on the Duometre à Chron...  

I see a suede calf or alligator is in your future 😉

One of my all time favorites and reminiscent of a time when JLC was ascendant amongst its peers. ...  

I almost wanted to get one at very good price.( we spoke about it). But found out later it came with the wrong box and no papers.. Will continue th search.
