Yes, a slightly shorter lug-to-lug would probably be even better.
Or, to put it another way, it shouldn't be any longer.
That said, as always, the photos exaggerate things because, in reality, the watch is quite slim and I find it to sit nicely on my wrist (but I might be blinded).
