I must admit I had forgotten the very first version of the Star... Shame on me ! A collector's piece, now, even if I would have preferred a thinner case. It's quite hard to find some of them on the second hand market, no ? Cheers, Olivier

They are very rare on the preowned market you are right Olivier. Now I am interested to hunt for the first generations Montblanc watches too! :) Even thought Montblanc's watch history is short, it is still very interesting to see these early Star timepiec... 

Thanks for putting this together and I know this will become the reference post for all enthusiasts looking for background/historical information on the Star Collection. There are so many other interesting "vintage" Star Collection watches. I wouldn't cal...  

The skeleton Star watch you posted is really nice! Thanks for sharing Mike. I suspect some pen collectors bought these watches and are keeping them with the pens As Olivier said, it will be interesting to see them on the preowned markets. They may become ...

Yes, that was the heritage that Montblanc had to start with, their fountain pens. They have grown and evolved a lot now though with other collections with their own design DNAs. But I agree it is quite fascinating for me to learn about the history of how ... 

In fact, it's incorporated into their leather accessories too, whenever they can. I remember the watch by Kurt Schaff fondly. It's a nice watch. As nice as any other skeleton out there. Perhaps one of the best and underappreciated watches out there...

The leather goods share the same DNA too from the 3 rings of the Meisterstuck pen. Maybe MB may do some Homage models few years done the road, as some of their pioneer watches are really nice (but perhaps can be refreshed). Cheers robin
