Great historical lesson on the Montblanc Star collection
Thanks for putting this together and I know this will become the reference post for all enthusiasts looking for background/historical information on the Star Collection.
There are so many other interesting "vintage" Star Collection watches. I wouldn't call them "grails" but they show the same DNA and all created to match their respective fountain pen limited edition. For example
The skeleton watch
The Han Wu Ti
The Princess and the Pea
I don't know if I would match "pen with watch" but certainly early MB Star watches were created for that clientele who did

I must admit I had forgotten the very first version of the Star... Shame on me ! A collector's piece, now, even if I would have preferred a thinner case. It's quite hard to find some of them on the second hand market, no ? Cheers, Olivier

Yes, that case band is a big part of Montblanc's DNA...
In fact, it's incorporated into their leather accessories too, whenever they can. I remember the watch by Kurt Schaff fondly. It's a nice watch. As nice as any other skeleton out there. Perhaps one of the best and underappreciated watches out there...

The leather goods share the same DNA too from the 3 rings of the Meisterstuck pen. Maybe MB may do some Homage models few years done the road, as some of their pioneer watches are really nice (but perhaps can be refreshed). Cheers robin
