The family also owned a boutique and were agent and distributor for Vacheron Constantin, Longines, Rolex, Buren Watch, Angelus, Movado

We civilians became interested in PANERAI because of PANERAI past ties with the Marina Militare, or since the published announcement of the Return of the Legendary Watches ‘Ritornano due orologi leggendari’
The vintage pieces (1936-1972) represented a tiny proportion and production of PANERAI laboratory of ideas. The ties, the trust between the Marina Militare (Regia Marina), PANERAI and renowned brands lead to produce timing and orientation instruments specifically for under-water activities.
Panerai in Firenze had the resources, the technical and industrial skills.

*The Rolex 2533, 3646, 6152’s 6154 were not popular, too big too large, considered not fit for any wrists.
We probably would have never known those models if it had not been for PANERAI ties and skills.
The only literature available I can remember about any of those pieces was a small blueprint of the Rolex 2533 at the back of ROLEX by George GORDON (1989) Hardcover: 350 pages Publisher: Zie Yongder Language: English ISBN-10: 9627359017
To me the only legitimate ties are : Panerai modified versions and the Rolex unmodified versions. The rest is not part of what I can possibly call legitimate or tue to the ties

Very nice! I'm far from being a Panerai expert, but these Panerais are really fascinating! In particular, the second 3646 is the only other reference I've ever seen, besides the 721, with a non-California, anonymous dial! ;-)
