My first Panerai was the PAM52 which is the 1st 40mm chrono Panerai made in Ti & Steel in 1999 (Panerai also made a WG version w/ black dial in 1999 - the PAM45). The PAM52 looks very similar to yours but doesn't have date, and I think the 52 dial is a tad darker.
The 40mm Zenith movement Panerai chronos have never really gotten that much attention from the Panerai collector community probably because of the smaller 40mm size, but those who feel the 44mm and 47mm Luminors are too big should find these 40mm chronos perfect.
Great to hear a PAM122 has gone to a great home, and wear it in the best of health Tony!

Thanks for the response, I didn't realize that there was a 52. It does look like the dial is a little darker.
pam 121 vs 122
guys new to the forum. I'm looking at my 4th panerai. can anyone confirm that the only difference between the 121 and 122 is the 121 came with the 2-tone bracelet? thanks for any help
