Officine Panerai

A Panerai 122 arrived this week!

I've been looking to acquire a PAM 122 for more than a year now and have found that these pieces are pretty hard to come by. I'm told that only 250 where ever made. Production was stopped before the whole run was completed in 2003 due to the fact that Zenith quit supplying movements to Panerai. Aside from that I've always been a fan of the 40mm Panerai's and the amount being produced today are pretty limited so it doesn't leave many choices for someone who can't pull the 44mm 45mm and 47mm watches off very well. Needless to say when the opportunity presented itself to acquire this piece I pulled the trigger and made the trade. The 122 may be my second favorite Panerai ever produced in between the 108 and the 168 and I could not be any happier with it right now!

I do want to thank another great member (you know who you are!) for making this happen. It was blind luck to a certain extent as the other member was doing a search on another forum and responded to a post that I made more than 9 months ago on a watch I posted for trade. As fate would have it, I still had the watch and a trade was made. (I hope to see some pictures on the Breguet forum soon!) I wanted to share some photos as not much info has been posted on this reference in the past. I hope you enjoy the photos!

The color combination is what makes this watch great! The grey dial with silver sub-dials really make this watch stand out from the rest IMO.

The 122 is pretty light and very comfortable to wear as its made from a mixture of steel and titanium.

Here is a shot of the beautiful Zenith movement. Panerai did a great job of decorating the rotor.

Here are some shots of it with my PAM 98. This new addition gives me coverage in both the Radiomir and Luminor lines.

Finally some wrist shots!
