How not to agree with your..script? They...
took one of the most quintessential dials in Panerai's history and turned into an absolute...travesty! The elimination of the date (from the more recent models) it's a testimony to their..blunder!!!! Of the "incarcations" of the 3646/249, the 424 is the worse by far IMO

PAM 424 is far from being almost like a PAM 249.
Sapphire instead of Plexy, Logo ( Damn why did they put a Logo on that one??? ) and Date, which is an heresy on the Cali.... The 249 was, in my book, much purer and cleaner. But to each his own, and if you like it, this is the most important! Welcome here...

The problem was that I did not know they have produced 448. If I knew I would take that one. My long time authorized dealer called me and offered 425 and said they had 424 and showed me pictures. I gave it a thought and made my decision, found dealer in C...

he problem with 249 is 42 h PR and plexyglass. 99% of 249 on the market now are scratched, so glasses are just horrible and sellers ask 10k for such a poor condition. Sapphire is better to me.
The plexy is easy to polish. And more sensual, too.
And the 249 doesn't have two major " hérésies " to me: The Date and the Logo... But once again, to each his own! Best, Nicolas

I have been luck enough to get the 249 and 232 back in the day and they still serve well. This Pam 424 is a real beauty to make the 249 jealous. Best Bill

Btw I do remember retail price for 249 back in 2006 was lower than 424 nowadays. In 2006 I had chance to buy 249 in my local boutique at infernally low price as I am vip client, but I had to buy furniture for the house at that time. I tried it on my wrist...
