Just joined this / first post / pls help and as another guy said on here recently, go easy on me. I'm looking at 4 Panerais and can't make up my mind! Will buy one or two. Radiomir help / thoughts please. Here are mine: - 210 - love the clean, traditional...

Great tips and interesting: you're not suggesting I buy ANY with in house movements...

But an expensive one! Well, the movements are taken from ETA, Valfleurier, Minerva or Piaget, and Panerai used to house Rolex, Angelus, Zenith, JLC, which is not an exhaustive list. Therefore, as Panerai was a " Laboratorio de Ideas ", the simpler is the ... 

I think I get what you're saying, but just to check. You're point is that the so called in house movements are only relatively more "in house" than previously? You don't think they're original or just more so than before?

i did not know that! sounds to me like they aren't "in house" if that's the case...

Is that always the case of Richemont's watch brands? I mean let's take Panerai's P999 calibre which I read was based on Piaget's Antiplano movement also the one in the 309 & 322 was based on Minerva movement and not forgetting the chronograph movement on ...

You will have a good combo, 1 rad-1 luminor ; 1 vintage style and 1 pre-v style. You can't go wrong with this combo my friend I hope to see your new panerai soon! SamRotandi

Thanks for the kind words and taking time to read and respond. (1) What's your view on buying in house vs. ETA? I think I get your view on vintage and non-vintage. I'll definitely upload the pictures. (2) Secondly, thoughts on buying a "near-mint" vintage... 

The iconic crown protector is Panerai's magic sauce. So from there I'd choose either the PAM111 or PAm312. For your 2nd Panerai, then I'd get a Radiomir to mix it up. This is what I always suggest to new Panerai fans - Luminor 1st and Radiomir 2nd. Cheers...
