In House is a very relative concept, at Panerai...
But an expensive one!
Well, the movements are taken from ETA, Valfleurier, Minerva or Piaget, and Panerai used to house Rolex, Angelus, Zenith, JLC, which is not an exhaustive list.
Therefore, as Panerai was a " Laboratorio de Ideas ", the simpler is the better, so I would be happy with a simple, accurate and reliable movement.
But this is only my take, of course.

I think I get what you're saying, but just to check. You're point is that the so called in house movements are only relatively more "in house" than previously? You don't think they're original or just more so than before?
They're made by Valfleurier for Panerai...
So can we really call them " In House "? Same for the new manual " in house " movement in the Rad 42 mm... Made by Piaget... Best, Nicolas

For your 1st Panerai, I'd get a Luminor instead of a Radiomir
The iconic crown protector is Panerai's magic sauce. So from there I'd choose either the PAM111 or PAm312. For your 2nd Panerai, then I'd get a Radiomir to mix it up. This is what I always suggest to new Panerai fans - Luminor 1st and Radiomir 2nd. Cheers...
