Big date, blue dial, 42mm and 99 unit SE. What's not to love?

I’ve got a similar piece from that era, pam062 that’s 40mm and also has the minute markers, something quite unusual for a Panerai ...  

I collect panerai watches since 1998 ( along other watch brands since 1994) but this one is something! The brand went too far for me after 2014. Congratulations!

Although I must confess I haven't closely followed Panerai over the years, just scratched the surface. But with this 065, I am quite smitten by its charm and the beautiful execution. Thanks for chiming in!

"Platinum" and not the...date which, for a true blue Panerista makes this model...horrendous. That being said, it's one of the early attempts of the Vendome Group at creating upmarket "jewelry" models (the 21 is another example) and move the brand from th... 

It has ruined the dial.

Leave the date away and put a small op logo at six, omit the Platinum marking… this would be the perfect watch for me.

I agree about the date window not being typical for a Panerai, and why would a dive watch need a large date anyway? That being said, if you look at this watch simply as a watch, and not as a Pam, it looks pretty cool to me. That kind of elegant but casual... 

...the only "aberration" on this watch is the name Panerai. Any other brand, I would probably buy 2...myself

If u have to chance I would go for it. I am sure you won’t meet a second person on a street wearing it …
