Strange you noticed the....
"Platinum" and not the...date which, for a true blue Panerista makes this model...horrendous. That being said, it's one of the early attempts of the Vendome Group at creating upmarket "jewelry" models (the 21 is another example) and move the brand from the status of tool watches to more moderate, main-stream, timepeaces. IMO of course

I collect panerai watches since 1998 ( along other watch brands since 1994) but this one is something! The brand went too far for me after 2014. Congratulations!

Although I must confess I haven't closely followed Panerai over the years, just scratched the surface. But with this 065, I am quite smitten by its charm and the beautiful execution. Thanks for chiming in!

I have seen a PAM80 live...
and took it for a quarz job, because of the "dead seconds" function that makes it look like one. I didn't know much about movements (back then)

I agree without date it would be even better
Leave the date away and put a small op logo at six, omit the Platinum marking… this would be the perfect watch for me.
I maybe look at this model from a different angle because I‘m not familiar with the brand
I agree about the date window not being typical for a Panerai, and why would a dive watch need a large date anyway? That being said, if you look at this watch simply as a watch, and not as a Pam, it looks pretty cool to me. That kind of elegant but casual...

...the only "aberration" on this watch is the name Panerai. Any other brand, I would probably buy 2...myself
