Officine Panerai

I like Panerai

There’s many things to like about the form and history of this brand.

I like their case shapes and sandwiched dials. It like the bold luminosity.

I used to have a Radiomir black seal which I would wear when fishing for peacock bass; oh how i enjoyed the piece.

But my gripe about Panerai is that they wear too large. I cannot wear them with long sleeves well. There were countless times when I almost knocked the piece against doors, elevator doors, table sides etc.

I never used to bother about thickness, until I wore other pieces which showed me how important thin-ness is.

Finally I traded my piece off.

But, I still find myself admiring OPs, especially the SLC pieces, the california dials, and the submersibles. I’m just waiting for the day an SLC styled piece will be made in a smaller and thinner, maybe with a second hand to ensure the watch is still ticking away, or a submersible in a smaller and thinner profile. Only then I will make a trip to the AD to buy it, or put myself on a waiting list.

I’m still waiting for OP to create a more anti-magnetic mechanism, so I won’t have to take it off when around MRI machines.

Until then I will just admire OPs from afar, much like a car lover will admire cars which he knows doesn’t suit his lifestyle.
