Officine Panerai

Looking at this from a business standpoint

there really isn't much motivation for Panerai to cater to this group of core collectors IMO.  It's a very small group, and Panerai does still have the 44mm Historic Luminors for them.

Panerai has become so huge in a little over 10 years that there are already people who only collect the "vintage" pieces (my definition of "vintage" will be the obvious vintage pieces, Pre-V, and A & B T-dials) such as those Rolex collectors who only buy vintage Rolex or those Omega collectors who only buy vintage Omega.

This is just part of the evolution of a brand as it evolves from nothing to huge success.  There will always be collectors stuck in the past who only like the old pieces and have no interest in the new pieces, new case designs, new movements, etc.  These collectors usually will be content in "hunting" for their vintage pieces as time goes by, and unfortunately these collectors have the short end of the stick compared to other collectors who only collect vintage from other brands since Panerai doesn't have that many vintage pieces number wise and that these vintage pieces, literally, don't have any complications.
