maybe the guys in the Boutique were trying to say that, since all the Bronzos are REALLY coveted by collectors and regular and frequent Panerai buyers, in order to have a chance to be "considered", you have to...build up...your client's profile and turnover, otherwise this coveted models will be assigned to other "regular" clients. From the sales and marketing point of view it makes a lot of sense. Not everybody will TELL you (to your face) but they will practice the policy of favouring the regulars 
I'm not sure it has something to do with the anti-flipping-fast-profit practices. This because among the very regular, bulk buyers there ARE flippers. The just can't bypass them. All of this IMO. Ciao
