Mixed feelings indeed. I’ve entertained those thoughts as well with a recent drop in weight..
But I still like wearing it. It’s also still comfortable to wear even if I’m on the last hole of the strap. If you can wear long sleeve type polo shirts, i don’t think it’s going to be an issue. With short sleeves it might be trickier. Interestingly enough, I’m not even self conscious about it. To be honest, recently i’m having more thoughts on the size of my sd43 versus the 372!
In this pic, my wrist might seem ok with the 372. That’s because it’s resting on the sofa so my wrist looks wider. If I lift it up, a different story altogether but not at all ridiculous because it’s meant to wear big. And designed to be big.
So, given said mixed feelings, this might actually be my only watch when I travel to Tokyo this month. Jumping hour hand for that quick one hour time difference adjustment. Straps to match. Lovely 
The strap does make a difference.
I had always said this would be a keeper, so was a little saddening when I thought I can’t enjoy wearing it.
Sincere thanks, Larry. I was quite surprised, but besides the character of the strap, it did better fit the watch to my wrist.
Try rolling it. If a watch strap is thicker, this helps a lot. Can make it look a little more worn but not a huge deal. I have to do this with most of my padded straps but it makes them super comfy.
