Officine Panerai

My personal opinion....

is that this model, as many other..modern..ones, belongs to the category: I like it, I don't like it. If you do, you buy one, if you don't you don't buy one. It's a scaled down model of an historical reference and as such a definite NO-NO for a Panerai purist. You like green, you buy green. You like blue? If they haven't produced a blue one yet, you just have to wait until they will do. As for the movement, all I can contribute is that, after having visited their factory and witnessed all the tests the movements are subjected to, I would buy it without a second thought. The bashers, whiners and venters take ONE negative episode and blow it out of proportions. Logic says that if I manufacture 50,000 watches a year (the figure is ONLY for the sake of this example), 5000 of them represent 10%, 500 hundred of them represent 1% and 50 of them represent 0.1%. Regardless of the CONDAMNATION from the 50 owners of the severely malfunctioning watches, if I were the M.D. of the company that has a 0.1% of defaults in production, I would be turning...cart wheels...while laughing uncontrollably smile
