A lot of good points…
The thickness, the strange and highly inflationary pricing, the cost cutting where it shouldn’t be…
I believe some of the issues are remnants of the recent past, where interest rates were close to zero and working capital possibly less in focus. And where prices were less in focus, too - especially for a brand like Omega that needs to shift 800.000 plus watches annually.
The problem is also the lack of any new models that are truly a hit out of the ballpark. As much as they have successfully ridden the Moonwatch horse, for me it’s been ridden to beyond the grave and back in the meantime and there’s no new story to follow on - at least not nearly as exciting.
They are too large to fail and in many ways also too good to do so. But at the same time very far away from their peak potential 🤷🏻♂️
