is that a genuine re edition like the 286 calibre piece they did in the 90's or is it really a franken watch? its a beautiful piece whichever it is. best Graham

with the Rg movement installed in place of the factory original movement (which of course I have kept and is in mint condition so it can easily be restored to factory original specs).

Graham. It's the 269's, not 286, were used in those homage. From what I see. , _The movement and the case are from the 40's. _The dial, the caseback and the crown are from the 90's.

I've just had a closer look at the Rg in Ninanet and I can say that the dial was refinished. Here's my question : _ Are refinished dials considered as "never left the factory that way" ?...  

Hi hoipolloi The entire case and dial and hands are from the re-edition. The only the 269 movement was swapped out for a 30T2Rg. That is total modern construction except for the movement swap. I was disappointed that Omega did not ship that limited editio... 

Hi Bill. By looking at the "worn lug", I guessed it's old and from the 40's, but maybe it's only the light reflection....  

i didnt find out about this ltd ed until quite recently. it was very poorly advertised, but a great idea. old movements in new, but identical cases as previously. they were a bit ahead of their time i think as loads of brands are using old movements now. ... 

Hi Graham. You type Omega homage 1894 and google it, you will find great links and pictures about it. Unfortunately, the reproduction of the legendary 30T2 Rg movement would have cost too much (?) and what you see inside is only a 269 caliber. In the mean...

very nice Ben. not sure its to my taste, but you can see the quality straight away. i'm glad i was right about the 286 movement being used on this series. i hate to be wrong. needless to say i 'hate' a lot of the time thanks Ben Graham...
