Omega

ello again dear Reuven. Appreciate your kind compliments on my shots. Yes, I did mention the extension feature of the clasp as this is a feature I welcome in spite of the fact...

... it makes it a bit thick and big for my taste. But I appreciate the possibility of extending a bracelet whithout having to add or take off a link.

When the extension is used all clasps (in all brands) with this feature won´t look nice if its extended too far outside. I like the feature because my wrist (as most wrists) change its size in hot Summers or in cold Winters and they allow for an easy and fast adjustment without adding or substracting a link.

In my experience it has worked well for me to fit the bracelet taking off links sizing it to my wrist (which by the way is rather thin at 17,5 cms, and I don´t like to wear my watches tight) so when hot weather arrives I only need to use the feature to extend it just a few milimiters out of the clasp. This means not ugly looks showing by the clasp.

I feel that if it is needed to show a long part of the extension out of the clasp, the reason is that the bracelet was not well fitted to begin with.

All this explanation is valid for any watch in regular use. If we are talking about the so called "diving extensions" it is a different matter because they are thought to compensate the use on the cuffs of a neoprene diving jacket and in this case the extension is fully extended, sometimes in two hinged parts and they surely will show odd.

But this is the price to be paid for a very technical use of a watch where aesthetics are left aside.

This is a very personal opinion of course.

Best cordial regards, Abel
