hey.... ok Pre-Rg.... vs Rg
Hello Arkona44
The watch I previously posted in a early 30 mm chronometre from 1941. The 30T2Rg with the Omega system regulator was release in 1943. I have always referred to the 30T2 chronometre grade as a Pre-Rg chronometre due to the fact the Rg was not yet release.
These early Pre-Rg chronometres display a lot of the same types of higher end finishes that the later 30T2Rg have but ever so slightly different.
As an example the winding wheels of both the Pre-Rg and the Rg are high finished but they are done almost in opposing styles to each other...
The most notable difference ( not counting the nickel plating vs rose gold color plating) is the regulating system the Pre-Rg has a simple stick regulator while the 30T2Rg has an index regulating system ( Rg=index regulation ) is the screwhead based Omega system.
Here is a standard 30 mm Omega movement.... notice the finish of the wheels , not polished just stamped flat parts . They are finished to the level needed to get the job done !

Here is my Pre-Rg
an Ad for the 30MM Rg chronometre
Here is a typical 30T2SCRg
and as a finishing touch .... after Omega stopped producing the 30T2SCRg..... to the genreal public they never produced a later 30 mm movement with index regulation.... ( that is not true)....
Here before you is a uncommon cal 283Rg ( I added the Rg designation to the cal reference, an Rg stands for index regulation) . Here you see an uncommon Factory Modification of a caliber 283 with a swan neck regulator and balance cock!
I wanted to spark your interest on these great time pieces...
Good Hunting
