Hi Stewart! I owned the 1st version in orange and now own the 39.5mm Summer blue. Here's my thoughts on them vs your new one. I preferred the shade of orange in the original aluminum

bezels. However eventually I realized the diameter of my 1st gen's case was too big for me. My 39.5mm Summer blue is much better size for my wrist (It wears like 40 as that is the diameter of its bezel). When I tried this new 42mm one on I found it to be wearable. While it is 42mm it's also thinner and not having the helium escape crown also helps it to wear smaller. Nowadays I usually prefer no date! Still love my small diameter Summer blue but now realize that a more perfect blue PO (for me) would have no escape valve, no date and a thinner case while retaining the fully satinized bracelet. I've been told that Omega tried but failed to duplicate the bright orange from the original aluminum bezels in ceramic. If they ever pull that off I'll probably have less Benjamins and one more Omega. ;-)
