One of my oldest and closest friends is a jeweler, and while his watchmaker overhauled the movement to near perfection . . .
. . . the watchmaker's skills at restoring the case and bracelet bordered on the level of incompetence. My friend had to finish the job and restore the case and bracelet himself, which just goes to show that a watchmaker's skill doesn't necessarily carryover to refinishing skills.
