I said this was expected to happen this week!
After two weeks of anticyclonic gloom over the UK preventing intended flying, yesterday we enjoyed glorious autumn weather. So I now share yesterday's airborne journey for my tool Omega 2777.
These quick succession photos were captured "hands off" (no autopilot fitted) at 3,000 feet passing over the town of Rugby in a Piper Warrior on route to collect Alec the pilot of a Diamond Aviation 42, also on route north for the latter's scheduled annual maintenance.
Alec and I landed back at base down into the long shadows just as the sun set. In spite of the wind, the air was as smooth as one would wish. My watch was only 27 years old when this Piper was built so two veterans together, ignoring me!
