Omega

Hi dear fellow purist! I am looking to add an Omega to my collection and while I was originally going for the Speedmaster with the racing dial, my AD showed me the new 007 Seamaster which is a totally different watch I know! While in general I am not a bi...

If the choice is between the two, the bond. The racing is a great watch, but it's chunky...44mm, and the sapphire on both front and back make it 15mm thick. Unless you like big chunky watches like that, the Bond is a better way to go.

A no brainer, Seamaster. post 2148. Omega found in 1848.

Look at the app. In the mean time i go to check the www WPS. (i like a Speedmaster, but no need to want one)

And the Ti is light and comfortable. The Al bezel is designed to have a different patina for each owner. You know my choice but like Art is saying, wear them both and feel it. ...  

I think the 9300 chrono movement is technically interesting. For me the manual helium escape valve on the Bond is neither useful or attractive. I’m biased though as I’ve been looking at the Black Black lately.

I own that particular model, and it’s the watch that I wear the most. The 9900 movement is super robust and is visually satisfying to look at through the display caseback. The utility factor (vertical clutch column wheel with ability for independent hour ...  

I would forget both of these and get a Speedmaster 321. I know it's more expensive than these two but well worth having as an only Omega. Just my $0.02.

Between these two and within current production, get Speedmaster 321

The speedmaster is an appealing choice as well but if I were to go that route, I’d go for the non co axial variants. And there’s a lot of choices there.. Tokyo 2020 Olympic models, regular speedmaster or first Omega in space, Apollo 8 dark side or the ck2... 

1) easier to service outside of omega (which can be very expensive than Rolex). Of course, if that is not an issue, then it’s not an issue ;-) 2) i like 3 register layouts better than 2 for speedmasters. I think most speedy models with co-ax have this bi-... 

But between these two, I would pick the Bond. I've been very tempted myself, love it 😊 ...  

But with the weight equally distributed around the wrist. The watch is very comfortable, although the clasp system is not my favorite, and doesn't fit my wrist well enough to pull the trigger. ...  

the Tokyo Olypmics release, "Rising Sun"? I've really been enjoying it. The splash of color and the grained dial makes it quite interesting. ...  

With other choices I too would lean towards the classic and the new 321 Speedy.

With the news of Hodinkee Mil-Spec release, I may have to part ways with my Seamaster NTTD to acquire the Blancpain Fifty Fathom Milspec.

...wud be most appreciated by me. 44mm is bit chunky for my wrists so I envy a lot of 44mm owners. The diver does little for me as a complication but no small potatoes either. Both belong in a growing collection wo being redundant.

And you can play a lot with the Speedy: timing seconds, timing your whole day, using the chrono as a second time tone, ....

Between the 2, the bond is more appealing to me. If I were to get a Chrono with MC, I personally prefer the Speedy Moonphase Chrono. Look forward to hearing your assessment (and decision) when you get to see them in the metal. Cheers!
