Omega

Pre-Weekend share - Brief looks on some of my humble Omega family..

Friends,
Many of you might know, that my main watch interest lines are
JLC & Rolex.

But it is not uncommon that other brands classics have entered my stables,
mostly to my great pleasure & enjoyment.

Furthermore, posts & pics from Nilo et al often leave me enthused,
sometimes even mesmerized..

That way there has been a very small Omega family coming together,
and also there was a rather recent arrival of a nice Vintage Railmaster.

This one has been giving me lots of pleasure, as I had been on the hunt
for members of the " Holy Trinity" of the Seamasters for quite a while..

So, enough of the Intro : I just thought to share some few of my Omegas,
each of them different, each of them very likeable .

I'll start with a straightforward Seamaster Dresswatch, I inherited from my
dear late father-in-law, who had worn this one for several decades.
His watch was passed on to me as a heirloom, and I truly cherish
this very nice "family piece".

She is an obtrusive steel watch, but with nice shiny golden indices and
hands. - This makes her a very universal wear, as well during daytime,
as also to a (not overly formal) evening event.

But most of all, I do cherish the memories connected, and I
absolutely love this one.

Here without further ado, this beautiful Seamaster,
with its convincing charm..

Clean, pure but charming and with an effortless
element of elegance..

Next one has been added to my stables, around the last quarter
of 2015. Again a pretty classical design code, from the second
half of the 60ies.

What I love on this watch, with its only 34mm size, but wearing
a bit larger, are the absolutely clean and clear layout
and a silver/white dial, which literally lights up;

Although a Chrono, it is one, with an almost elegant appeal.

Here this lovely Chrono, Ref 145.018 with a
really nice Cal. 861, one of the successors of the 321,
AFAIK..

3-Compax De Ville Chrono (1968)

And last but not least, here my latest lucky find,
a CK 2914-2 Railmaster !

I had been admiring this one, within some friends'
Collections ( Nico & Blomman, you have infected me..).

Also I love that face with the long indices, the big arrow
hours hand, the 3,6,9.12 and the great contrast between the deep
black of the dial with those nicely patinated indications.

Finally, it has a very reasonable movement; the serials
put her likely between 1956-58.

But again, what it really does it for me, is the overall charm
of that absolutely beautiful dial with its oily, almost mirror
like black and the charming contrasts.

Here the Collage of this Railmaster:

CK 2914 - 2, one of my recent big loves

Guess, I'll need to stop here; also I hope,
my dwellings weren't too long & cumbersome.

Can only humbly say, as a pretty Newbie in
Omega, I truly enjoy these an awful lot !!

Best, hs
smile smile
