And I love (almost) their entire catalog ! I own the 5270G "successor" to your watch, and, whilst I think that is also a great looking piece, I find the 5970's dial to be more harmonious for some reason. Maybe it's the lack of those leap year portholes ? ...

5270s a great watch with its advanced inhouse movement But I went for the 5970 despite its flaws becoz of its case design, and more balanced dial ie subdials aligned to 3-9 and both leap yr-day nite indicators integrated into the subdials
Spicing your 5970 is a good thing to do ! This strap is nice but is
not flamboyant enough IMO ! Really !
