Thank you so much for sharing these examples from Japan. I'm leaning toward passing on this find and looking for something in better condition. I'll be out there in July (I go once a year). I've done my walks around Ginza and Nakano Broadway but there are so many sellers. Anyway, thank you for sharing these examples.

what is the diameter?
could be a different reference - 5096 - if diameter is 33mm instead of 31 mm (3796, solid cashback)

I didn't get a chance to measure it but I tried it on and it definitely wore like a 31mm. 5096 has sapphire back, right? But I'm pretty sure it wasn't. The case back (see image) is stamped 3796S. I've never seen the yellow version, though

Japan is a great place for vintage
As a culture, Iāve found conditions there to generally be the best and you are more likely to get box and papers.
