Good eventing to all, Start of a luxury problem. I just bought an aquanaut 5164a but yesterday in Geneva I visited the Patek store. Heaven for all Patek enthausiasts. In the store a had the luck to wear a lot of Patekβs Iβm interested in. One of the piece...
I believe there's not a right/wrong decision there. In my case, I wouldn't let my 5164A go for any other Aquanaut. Perfect proportions on my wrist, comfortable and versatile like hell, useful complication, sporty enough to take it to the pool in summer an...
That is the excact the same reason for to by the 5164a. Dual time zone for traveling handy for means the measurements as well. There was however something in me that said......
If I had the choice, I would go for 5968A even if I don't really have much use for a chronometer. I have seen 5968A in the grey market going for more than double the retail price at present. That is also something to consider.
It's better proportioned. The 5968 is a bit too large and fat IMO. Not to mention the date window at 3 O'Clock makes the dial less balanced. And don't forget that the 5164A has already been out for 8 years, and it will probably be discontinued soon. Selli...
The size of the watch on your own wrist usually answers the question. The answer for me is 5164A. Personally I wouldn't want my watch to be larger. If you can 'handle' them both you can consider the functions. Do you prefer a Chrono or a Dual Time? Also; ...
I find the 5164 far more proportionate and balanced. The 5968 is very cool as well and there is naturally a novelty bias as well as secondary market bias. However if we set that aside and assume both cost and are worth the same in dollars then easily 5164...
Iβve been searching for both as I refuse to pay the crazy grey market. Get both, and I will buy one off you. I would prefer 5164 but would go 5968 too. Iβm serious.
But after having had the chance to try out the 5968a in real I needed to add that to my collection as well. Both watches are similar and different at the same time and Iβm wearing both regularly. I could not make a judgement between both.
