The rose gold is more elegant, while the steel version is more discreet and sportier. Time will tell you when you try them a few times. Best, Mark

i am a fan of this reference but to be honest find the pricing a bit high. Mostly as I would have a preference for the 5980R or 5711R for roughly the same. I know we are not to speak money here but believe relative comparisons here are appropriate, if not...

Only one thing "annoyed" me with this timepiece (and sporty watches in general). Why making a case with precious metal and more specifically yellow or rose gold and not only steel? For me, that\'s not consistent. In my opinion, sporty watch = steel or tit...

A very well thought out dual time complication, good water resistance and rubber strap to be more comfortable in the heat. Plus it looks good! I would choose the steel version, but the R is one of the few rose gold watches I would be comfortable wearing. ... 

you may be right. The security and easy way to adjust it makes it maybe the best Dual Time feature today. The rose gold version is very appealing and remains quite "discreet" for a rose gold watch, compared to a classical design. It would be a version I w... 

I find the Aquanaut to be perfect, even in rose gold! It\'s not an alternative for the Nautilus. One can have both an Aquanaut and a Nautilus in my opinion. This 5164R is slowly becoming very tempting indeed...

There is always a little question about offering a sporty watch in a precious metal. Here, I think it works very well (as it would with a Nautilus). What you say about getting an Aquanaut next to a Nautilus is interesting and I must say I had this kind of...

I am wearing mine for more than 4 years now and everytime I take it out the safe I get stunned by the look of the dial and the whole appearance of this reference. It´s wearing perfectly well, either as a "tool watch" on the beach or even at business occas...  

This is indeed a watch that can be worn in many sporty activites, very comfortable. Patek's rose gold colour is also not too red and more refined. Enjoy your watch well and thank you for the pics Best, Mark

the only issue i have with the 5164R is how close and non-distinct the 31 and the 1 are on the date wheel. this is much better done on the 5712R where the 1 is in red.

It's more sporty than Nautilus and less conservative too. I also like how it slips under the radar as most people aren't aware of its value. The svelte profile of 5167 makes it a great all-rounder for casual wear. But I also like the 5164 due to its symme... 

As for a Nautilus with this dual time complication, aside of the 5990 that has also a chronograph function, it would be interesting, though I don't know if Patek would put side by side the Nautilus and the Aquanaut with the exact same complication. Now, w... 

A Nautilus made in the spirit of 5164 has some potential. It could replace the somewhat old 5712, if they wanted to make room for a new model within the same price range (relatively speaking). I honestly don't know whether I like the 5990, because I can't... 

I find the chrono on my 5980 very difficult to read, but I do have poor eyesight!
