Patek Philippe

As per MSTANGA's standards.

Originality and symmetry of bevels and edge sharpness are critical when assessing vintage Nautilus cases. The case on your 3700/1 shows signs of life (scratches, dings), but crucially, it hasn’t been overpolished like the bracelet. This is a positive, as MSTANGA often emphasizes avoiding overly restored examples. The contrast between case and polished bracelet is actually useful—it shows the case retains some original geometry.

Type 2 dials (with horizontal embossing slightly closer to the markers and different typography) began appearing around 1979-1980.

A 3700/1 with a Type 2 dial and papers dated 1983 is entirely plausible. MSTANGA has noted in multiple posts that watches were often sold years after production, especially if they sat with dealers or boutiques.
