5170 last because I just don't like diamionds on the face of a dial. If it didn't have the diamonds, then it would come in second for me behind the 5070.
I think the 3970 is a lovely watch, but, its not one I would buy because it reopresents "good value". For me, I am not looking for "good value". Rather, I want something that makes me smile when I look at it. I don't want to look at it and think "Hey, that's a good value watch."

I agree completely on the 3970. I find that I can make a checklist on a piece and it may check every box but at the end of the day it has to have some magic!
