Since the Swatch group ended the supply chain for other manufacturers Patek was forced to develop an inhouse chrono movement. And with what result! Another technical titbit is this:
inside the red lines you can see a spring (!) that is used to move the counting minute wheel. In other constructions, like Lange's Datograph, it is a system of levers that consume a lot energy. Patek has reduced the parts for this technical feature significantly by using this, again simple, spring solution.

I love my 5970P more I do feel given the small numbers (I\'m guessing) the 5270 with the so called "chin" will become collectible - particularly if numbers of the 5270 remain small overall...it\'s just the sort of thing to pull a surprise at an auction on...

Update: went with the rose gold afterall.
I think the blue dial is a bit faddish for a watch of this complexity. The white gold dial doesn't have the contrast of the rose dial to me.
