There is an entirely different hemisphere depicted between the G and J versions. That would explain the difference you describe.
Personally I never understood the appeal of these dials. "Emporer's new clothes" perhaps? No offense intended, and desirability as with beauty remains in the eye of the beholder, but these dials seems more like jewelry than timepieces. I'll buy my jewelry from Tiffany or Cartier and my watches from Patek. A nice platinum WT beats both versions hands down IMO. Different strokes for different folks.
