It must be that much harder for storied watch brands. The existing old school clients already have so much from the golden PP years (from collectors’ perspective), it can be that much harder to impress with something new. And we won’t be around too much longer to matter anyway. As such, in a way I credit Stern with making the hard decision since he can take the hits, and therefore spare his son(s) from dealing with the naysayers. At the same time, we know Cubitus will be (or is) successful, and will only get better. Wahlberg got his and we’ll soon be seeing on all the footballers and influencers who constitute the new generation of clients whether we like it or not. Again, my point and main curiosity has been about PPs decision from a purely business perspective, because honestly what else is there at the end of the day for brands, IMHO.
